Blepharoplasty in Turkey
Blepharoplasty corrects excess skin and eyelid bags for a rested gaze. In Turkey, an alternative destination recognised for its international experience, Olea Medical organises your entire stay.
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty): what is it?
Blepharoplasty removes excess skin from the upper eyelids and/or corrects the bags of the lower eyelids, for a rested, natural gaze. In Turkey, this procedure is part of a highly developed medical tourism sector.
Turkey is offered by Olea Medical as an alternative to Tunisia, our priority destination.
Goals of the procedure
- Lighten a tired gaze
- Correct the lower bags
- Free the field of vision if necessary
- Preserve the natural expression of the gaze
Who is it for? Indications
- Excess upper skin or lower bags
- Tired gaze not improved by non-surgical care
- No ophthalmological contraindication
- Realistic expectations assessed during the consultation
Only a healthcare professional can determine whether a procedure is suitable for your situation, following a medical assessment.
Techniques
Upper blepharoplasty
Incision in the natural fold of the eyelid, hidden scar.
Lower blepharoplasty
External approach below the lashes or transconjunctival approach with no visible scar.
Combined approach
Treatment of all four eyelids during a single procedure, depending on the indication.
Preparation, procedure and anaesthesia
After a remote assessment and an on-site work-up (ophthalmological opinion if needed), the procedure is most often carried out under deep local anaesthesia, sometimes with sedation, in a partner facility. The major Turkish hubs have recent infrastructure.
Aftercare, recovery and results
Swelling and bruising in the first days, regressing gradually. Suture removal after a few days if necessary. The recovery time before the return flight, longer from Turkey, is built into the organisation. The result is assessed over several weeks.
Risks and limitations
- Risks related to healing, temporary ocular dryness or asymmetry, explained during the consultation.
- The scars, hidden, are generally discreet but permanent.
- Following the instructions contributes to a good result.
