Rhinoplasty in Tunisia
Rhinoplasty reshapes the form and structure of the nose for natural facial balance, while respecting breathing. In Tunisia, Olea Medical's primary destination, your journey is organised end to end.
Rhinoplasty: what is it?
Rhinoplasty is the cosmetic and functional procedure that changes the shape of the nose: bridge, tip, nostrils or septum. It aims to harmonise the nose with the rest of the face while preserving — or improving — nasal breathing.
When it corrects only the septum for breathing reasons, it is called septoplasty; when it combines aesthetic and functional goals, septorhinoplasty. In Tunisia, these procedures are performed by specialised medical teams in partner facilities with modern equipment.
Goals of the procedure
- Harmonise the shape of the nose with facial proportions
- Correct a hump, a drooping tip, a deviation or a breathing difficulty
- Achieve a natural result, suited to anatomy and expectations
- Preserve or improve nasal breathing
Who is it for? Indications
- Adult whose nasal growth is complete
- Aesthetic concern (hump, tip, asymmetry) or functional concern (breathing)
- Good general health, with no medical contraindication
- Realistic expectations, discussed during the consultation
Only a healthcare professional can determine whether a procedure is suitable for your situation, following a medical assessment.
Techniques
Closed rhinoplasty
Incisions are made inside the nostrils, with no visible external scar. It suits many corrections of the bridge and tip.
Open rhinoplasty
A fine incision under the columella offers better visibility for more complex work. The scar is usually discreet.
Ultrasonic rhinoplasty (piezo)
The bone is reshaped using ultrasound, which can allow precise work. The technique is chosen by the medical team according to anatomy.
Preservation rhinoplasty
An approach that aims to preserve the natural structures of the nose when indicated.
Preparation, procedure and anaesthesia
Preparation includes a remote assessment of the project, then a pre-operative work-up carried out on site. Personalised instructions are provided (medication to avoid, smoking, etc.).
The procedure is most often performed under general anaesthesia in a partner facility. Its duration varies with the complexity of the work. A protective splint or cast is generally placed for a few days.
Aftercare, recovery and results
In the first days, swelling and bruising around the eyes are common; they subside gradually. The splint is removed after a few days. Returning to social activities is often possible after one to two weeks, depending on the case.
The result refines over several months, as residual swelling disappears. No result can be guaranteed in advance: it depends on anatomy, healing and adherence to post-operative instructions.
Risks and limitations
- Like any procedure, rhinoplasty carries risks related to anaesthesia, healing or aftercare, explained during the consultation.
- In some cases a result may require a touch-up at a distance from the initial procedure.
- Strictly following pre- and post-operative instructions helps limit the risks.
Your medical stay in Tunisia
Tunisia's proximity makes organising the stay easier: flights from London, Paris, Brussels or other European cities are short, simplifying both the trip and the return. Olea Medical arranges the airport welcome, transfers, accommodation and support for as long as needed.
English- and French-speaking coordination makes exchanges with the teams straightforward — an aspect patients often value.
How much does Rhinoplasty cost in Tunisia?
The cost of a rhinoplasty in Tunisia depends on the technique chosen (closed, open, ultrasonic), the complexity of the nose, whether the procedure is aesthetic and/or functional, the required tests and the services included in the stay. For this reason, Olea Medical displays no figure and provides a personalised quote after reviewing the project.
Olea Medical does not display prices online: every project is quoted individually, because the cost depends on many factors.
